Well here we are with another month gone and we are
beginning to get back into a normal kind of life. Still trying to
be as safe as possible while getting out and visiting each other
again.
We attended the Chapter T Spring Fling in
May and had a great time. They had a couple of terrific rides in
the mountain twisties, along with some great fellowship and good food.
On
Saturday June 6th, we held our first breakfast ride since the
lockdown. Eight members met for a meal at the Sonic south
of Conyers. It was really good to see everyone.
We
also held our Dinner Ride to Los Charros in Conyers
on Tuesday, June 9th. I hope we're able to
have more of our members out and enjoying rides together soon.

Thoughts & Concerns Peg Hopkins
I hope
everyone is doing well and enjoying your time staying safe. It is
the hardest thing we have ever done in my lifetime. Beginning to
get out more and trying to get back to some type of normal
lifestyle. Continue to stay safe.
Please keep Lawana
Burrell in your thoughts, she had another heart procedure on May
14th but it was an outpatient procedure. Talked with her on
late Friday, May 15 and she said she was feeling OK but if you know
Lawana that is what she tell you every time she has something
done. She got home at 5 on Thursday afternoon and her procedure
went great she said. Hope she is feeling better each day. Some
you know Ron and Becky Lees from South Carolina, not sure what
chapter. Ron had been fighting the Covid-19 virus for weeks and
last report he was in ICU still fighting. Becky was quarantined
at home for 14 days since she tested positive for the virus.
Please keep them in your prayers for a complete recovery.
I am
sad to tell you that Cal Krefft, a member of I-2, Lavonia , passed away
May 12th . According to Sharon, his wife, he passed away
quietly. Please keep Sharon and their family in your
prayers. If you would like to send Sharon and family cards their
address is Mrs. Sharon Krefft 153 Mountain Springs Drive Clarkesville, GA 30523 As
always please contact me or Bonnie if you have any concerns or need
help for any reason. Continue to keep our country in your though
and prayers during this time of confinement and try and keep all
guidelines in your everyday lives as possible.

Motorist
Awareness Info
Bob
Greer Life Grand Master Tour Rider
April
is normally National Distracted Driving Awareness Month but the
National Safety Council (NSC) has published that they will try to do
something in October this year. I will keep you posted on any
updates.
May is normally Motorcycle Awareness and Motorcycle Safety. I will also monitor NSC’s website for any updates about this.
As
your ChA MAPC (Motorist Awareness Program Coordinator) I will try to
incorporate MAP events into our normal rides & events for the rest
of this year and maybe, just maybe, the World, United States, Georgia,
GWRRA and GA ChA will get back to a new normal in a short while.

Greer Life Grand Master Tour Rider
Chapter A is finally getting back to riding, having events and socializing.
In May, ChT had their annual Spring Fling in Dillard, GA. A few ChA folks went up and joined in on their FUN.
In June, ChA had a breakfast ride, a dinner ride and is planning its first regular monthly gathering, eat & meet.
We
will continue to schedule and plan rides and events. As we do,
safety, health and wellness is our top priority. We encourage you
to attend these rides and events but continue to maintain social
distancing as much as possible and hygiene (washing your hands). Please
keep in mind that most of us are in the "high risk" category.
GWRRA Updates
WOS
(Wings Over The Smokies), the annual North Carolina Rally has been
cancelled for 2020. I have heard rumors that NC will try to have
some sort of "riding" event in its place.
The annual Georgia
Rally is still on for October 8, 9 & 10th, 2020. It is a "Ride In"
and is exactly like it sounds, a riding event. If you like to
ride and especially if you like to ride in the North Georgia Mountains,
you need to send in your registration and make your room reservations
as soon as possible. A Ride In flyer can be found on the GWRRA Georgia Webpage.
Wing Ding – The Annual National GWRRA Rally Has
been rescheduled for Springfield, MO for June 29 – July 3, 2021
Registration, room reservation information, etc, can be found on
the GWRRA Home Page. If anyone has any items for sale, please
send pictures, info and the sale price to Bob McCroskey.
We'll get them listed on the web.
