Hello Chapter Friends and Family.  This is the first Chat of the year and I hope this is going to be a great year.
We had our annual New Year’s Day Bikers Stew at Ken and Anita Maynard’s home. The gathering was not as large as in the past but still good with 14 members.  We are hoping that our regular numbers will start to increase as the year goes on.

Please check out the Week Ahead that Bob Greer puts out for any upcoming rides.  We hope you'll attend several events whenever you feel safe to do so.
I am looking forward to a much better year than the one that just passed and hope to see you at the next gathering on January 16th at Sakura Hibachi Grill.

Thoughts & Concerns
Peg Hopkins

Please keep Vance and Fern Oakes in your thoughts as they continue to heal.  From reports, they are getting stronger every day.  I hope they  continue with this improvement.

Bob Hickly spent his Christmas holiday in the hospital.  He was taken to Newton hospital on Wednesday night, December 23rd.  He was admitted and released on Christmas Day.  No Covid-19 or flu but it was some type of infection in blood stream.  Went to doctor today, December 30th. and they still can not say where or how the infection got in blood stream.  That is BOB, for you, always coming up with something that no one can pinpoint.  He is feeling better and better every day.

Bonnie McCroskey is recovering from surgery on her hand on December 18th.  Bob is becoming quite the nurse mate these days.  Way to go Bob!

Please keep Beverly Ensley and her family in your thoughts and prayers.  Beverly lost her mother on December 30th, she was 92 and passed away in her sleep, which is what she always wanted to do.  Please keep the family in your prayers.  You can send Beverly a card at 280 White Acres Drive, Stockbridge, GA 30281.

Also, please keep Mark Wall in your thoughts and prayers as his Mom passed away in November. If you’d like to send a card, he’s at 570 Golden Court, Stockbridge, GA 30281.

Marion Khuen had knee replacement surgery on January 6th.  Kent said she's doing well and they're continuing with her home therapy sessions.  Hopefully good things will continue for her recovery.  If you wish to send Marion a card, their address is; 5699 Forest Drive, Lilburn, GA 30047.

Georgia GWRRA has lost two members.  Dick Taylor from GA Chapter L passed away from the COVID-19 virus.  He has been in the hospital a couple of weeks.  Please keep Teri and family in your prayers.  Alan Head, a long time GA Chapter member passed away on December 21st.  Alan was Chapter Director Z out of Newnan, GA.  He was also an ADD & GA Trainer back around 2003-09.  Please keep Debbie and family in your prayers.  These member will surely be missed by all who knew them.

Please as always keep our country in prayer.  This is still a crazy, scary time in our world today.  Stay safe and hope to see everyone soon.  Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Off to a Good Start!!

What a great time was had at our annual Chapter A Christmas party.  As usual, the food was yummy and the company was fabulous.  We social distanced at our tables but we were all able to visit and enjoy each other's company. Thank you to The Bridge First Christian Church of Stockbridge for allowing us to use your facility.  The snowflake decorations were beautiful.

We did something a little different this year at the Christmas party...Alf was just tired of quarantining at the Ensley's home.  As most of you know, Alf is our Chapter A mascot.  He has decided he is ready to get back out there and join in on the FUN with Chapter A participants.  We drew a name to see who would take Alf on his first month's adventure. Dick and Peg Hopkins were selected to be the honored recipient of having Alf as their house guest until the Jan Monthly Gathering on Jan 16th where he will go home with a new chapter participant for the month. Peg has done a great job of taking Alf wherever she goes.  We have pictures to prove that Alf can no longer be bored staying at home. He is still social distancing and wearing his mask, staying safe.

Alf even showed up at the New Year's Day Biker's Stew event.  He asked to taste the biker's stew, just to make sure it was good for all to eat.  He said it was so good it must have had a little CAT in it. The rest of us enjoyed his company and look forward to seeing him more and more at our rides and events.  A big THANK YOU goes out to the Maynard's for once again hosting our annual New Year's Day biker's stew event.  Everyone had a great time and all left with full bellies.

Come say hi to Alf and be a part of the FUN in 2021.
Motorist Awareness Info

Life Grand Master Tour Rider

The Motorist Awareness Program reaches out to the non-cycling public and tells them about motorcyclists with a goal of reducing motorcycle accidents.

Unfortunately, this program was put on hold in 2020 as a result of the Covid-19 Pandemic.

I am hoping that with the new Covid-10 vaccinations the social distancing restrictions will be reduced in 2021 and Chapter A can start scheduling MAP Activities again.

Stay tuned.

Happy New Year everyone!

For those of you who were unable to attend our Christmas Party..we missed you!  A fun raffle was held to benefit the Veterans Support Group. At $1 per guess, members could guess  the amount of Christmas candy in a tall jar, with unlimited guesses. The member guessing the correct or closest number would receive the jar and contents, plus a handcrafted bowl donated by Phil Piotrowski.

Total amount raised was $51, and the lucky winner was Karla Greer!

Thanks to all who played! See you at our next meeting, and please don't forget to bring your canned and packaged goods for VSG.

Happy New Year.  The ride calendar has been populated for the first few months of 2021.  Take a look to see what, when & where we are going and then decide if you can join us.

Our annual biker's stew at the Maynard's was a fantastic showing.  Bob & Bonnie never fail us with their pot of biker’s stew. But even better than the food, which is hard to beat, was the fellowship of actually seeing everybody and catching up with our GWRRA extended family.

Hope you make plans to join us soon.
